SANDRA HAS BEEN WORKING HARD FOR YOU

 SANDRA WORKING HARD 4 jpg

In 10 years of representing you, and making your voice heard in parliament Sandra has actioned over 18,000 – yes that’s 18,000 items of case work. Sandra has fought to protect local jobs, and improve local infrastructure and services.

SANDRA WORKING HARD 5 jpgThe local economy; Sandra met the CEO of Ford UK, leased with trade unions, and fought for EU money to help keep the local Ford plant open. Sandra has surveyed local small and medium size businesses to help them fight to get the government help they needed. Sandra also met with local banks to persuade them to increase their lending to otherwise trustworthy businesses. Sandra Has fought for the pension rights of IBM and Ordnance Survey employees, and for the fair compensation for Equitable Life policy holders.

SANDRA WORKING HARD 3 jpgLocal post offices; Sandra petitioned number 10 with your objections to the closing of local post offices, Sandra held public meetings to listen to your thoughts and ideas, helped residents by outlining how to complain to PO Ltd, met with local Parish Councils to co-ordinate a response and made a written submission herself. Met with Royal Mail, to put your case forward, and discourage them from closing local Post Offices.

SANDRA WORKING HARD 1 jpgTransport; Sandra has fought hard to maintain and improve our local transport infrastructure. How do she do this? By lobbying parliament and franchise operators for road and rail to improve the number of trains and busses in our local area. Sandra also fought to save Chandlers Ford Railway station from closure.

Health; Sandra fought hard to successfully save the Romsey Hospital from closure and to get Romsay new NHS dentists. Raised in parliament and lobbied local health bosses to increase out-of-hour services. She also campaigned to reduce rural ambulance times, and hospital parking charges. Sandra also successfully campaigned for suffers of wet macular degeneration - which causes blindness - to receive the treatment they need. Sandra was a co-sponsor of the Autism Bill to achieve the first condition specific piece of legislation. Sandra surveyed the constituency on plans to Fluoridate our water supply, after finding the views of local people Sandra met with experts, and made representations to a public consultation and presented a petition to number 10.

Over-development; Sandra has been working hard to stop over development and in our area, for example the Abbottswood, and Whitenap developments. Sandra has raised these over-development issues in Parliament, whilst other local figures have remained silent.
